CONCEPT
My senior project is a 3D animation film. For 3D computer graphics software, I use Cinema 4D. This is because Cinema 4D is industry-standard software, and it is also the software I am most familiar with. There are several reasons why I want to create a 3D animation film for my senior project. Firstly, I was impressed by the broad range of expression in 3D/computer graphics among the various art mediums I studied in ICAM. 3D/CG can create new expression techniques and visual beauty while incorporating elements of traditional art mediums such as painting and drawing, providing visually appealing works. This is made possible by the integration of diverse knowledge such as computer graphics, programming, computer science, mathematics, and physics. These are indeed art mediums created by the fusion of art and technology, which can be aptly called Interdisciplinary Computing and the Arts (ICAM). Furthermore, 3D animation can create diverse characters, worlds, and stories beyond the constraints of reality more than 2D animation and live-action works. This allows people from various backgrounds to express themselves and enables viewers to understand things from diverse perspectives. Additionally, 3D animation is a powerful tool for conveying cultural messages, providing opportunities to understand and empathize with different cultures and values through various stories and perspectives. As a result, it is possible to raise awareness and promote change through works themed on social and environmental issues. For these reasons, I believe that 3D animation plays a role in promoting the evolution of technology and art in modern society beyond mere entertainment. Through my senior project, I want to challenge the limits of my expression techniques and create a work that conveys my thoughts and assertions.
